Is there such a thing with a 14 month old? We are lucky our local library has baby story time on Saturday mornings. Julia however doesn't sit still, she moves about the whole room. All the other babies sit on their mommy's lap but not miss independent. Now granted she was the youngest by four to five months but could she have just sat in my lap for one story?? Now Miss Jan who does story time told me to let her run around that she would be worried if she sat still the entire time, but I hate that feeling of all the other parents looking at us like we are doing something wrong. Oh well we are going again next week because she has a great time even if she runs around like a crazy girl. Sunday, March 9, 2008
Story Time Etiquette
Is there such a thing with a 14 month old? We are lucky our local library has baby story time on Saturday mornings. Julia however doesn't sit still, she moves about the whole room. All the other babies sit on their mommy's lap but not miss independent. Now granted she was the youngest by four to five months but could she have just sat in my lap for one story?? We do story time too! Nora still doesn't sit for the stories, only the songs in the beginning. River likes the stories but only recently would sit for all of them. I have to sit on the floor with them to have even a chance of them sitting.
Doesn't matter how crazy she is if she looks so adorable. How cute is that little outfit!
It is not normal for kids her age to sit still for an entire story. I helped out at Hannah's library time and half of her class wasn't paying attention to the (way too long) book.
I miss story time...there really isn't anything like that here. We do have our own every evening and Sarah is the crazy one jumping all over the other 2 who are really trying to listen, unless they are distracted by their crazy sister jumping on them.
